A recent visit to the northern English city of Manchester enabled me to take a day trip into the countryside surrounding the sprawling conurbation.
It was in the Peak District, England’s first national park, that I found landscapes very well known to me despite this being my first and only venture to this part of Britain.
The familiarity of the landscapes to some of my favourite Irish scenes was startling with green fields, stone walls and sheep occupying softly smoothed mountains.
And this image, one of many from the area, is similar to many of my best Irish images.
I run photography workshops and tours throughout Ireland, UK, France and Italy for individuals and small groups, for more information contact me here.
