About

Professional photography for publications, brands and events — based in Ireland, working across Britain and Europe. Ireland photo tours and workshops are available separately via Panoramic Ireland.

I’m Darren McLoughlin. I supply editorial, commercial and promotional photography for clients who need strong location work, architecture and interiors, travel and tourism, and live music and festivals — from national newspapers and magazines to hospitality, aviation, public sector and independent brands. I work to brief, hit deadlines, and deliver files that fit your production workflow, whether the job is a multi-day commission or a single high-pressure event.

Background

My route into photography was shaped by understanding landscape and place: I hold a BSc in Geography and worked in Irish archaeology before moving into professional photography in the mid-2000s, starting with architectural work. That background still feeds how I plan shoots — scouting locations, reading weather and light, and solving practical problems on site so your team gets usable material with minimum of fuss.

Photography tours & workshops

Through Panoramic Ireland I run photography tours and workshops for visitors and photographers who want to explore Ireland with local guidance — separate from commercial commissions above.

On workshop days I’m not only chasing the best angle — I want you to leave with usable skills and context: why a particular time of day, lens or position works, whether you’re on a phone or a high-end system. Tours are built around small groups and private bookings and real local knowledge, not only the obvious viewpoints.

The full story of the Ireland tours, itineraries and booking is on Panoramic Ireland — About.

Music & events

Alongside travel and commercial work I photograph live music — including long runs at festivals such as Electric Picnic and artists across rock, metal and pop for editorial and promotional use.

Publications & clients

My images have appeared in titles including the New York Times, The Guardian, The Irish Times and The Times. Commissions have included the Ritz-Carlton, Dublin City Council, easyJet, the Irish Landmark Trust and many local businesses across Ireland and makers.
