Trinity College Dublin, the Long Room Library

Dublin’s Trinity College was founded in 1592 making it Ireland’s oldest and the youngest of the ten prestigious universities of Ireland and Britain.

Home to over 200,000 rare manuscripts and books the library is rightly regarded as being one of the most beautiful libraries of the world. Amongst those rare and beautiful books it holds the Book of Durrow, Book of Armagh and the famous Book of Kells – an illuminated manuscript of the Four Gospels, written ca. 800AD.
